Kathmandu. The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry has honored Taragaun Regency Hotel for paying the highest tax in the hotel and tourism sector in the fiscal year 2079-80.
During the pre-budget discussion for the upcoming fiscal year organized by the Federation in Kathmandu on Sunday, Director General of the Department of Internal Revenue Madan Dahal and Federation President Chandra Prasad Dhakal jointly presented a certificate of honor to Taragaun Regency Hotel.
The Federation had decided to honor various organizations on the occasion of the 59th Annual General Meeting and Industry and Commerce Day 2081 held on Chaitra 28. The honor was presented at a program organized today. On the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the Federation, based on the recommendations of the Technical Committee, the Federation honored organizations that pay the most tax in various sectors.
The hotel has already received various awards as the hotel that pays the most tax in the tourism sector.
The hotel has previously been honored as the company that pays the most income tax in the tourism sector in the fiscal year 2071/72, fiscal year 2073/74, fiscal year 2074/75, fiscal year 2075/76 and fiscal year 2076/77. The hotel was honored by the government in 2076 for collecting the highest foreign exchange in the tourism sector.
The Inland Revenue Department honored the largest hotel in Nepal with a total of 303 rooms as an excellent taxpayer.
The hotel, built on the concept of the Taragaun Cultural Center to reflect Nepali art and style, has been making a significant contribution to Nepal’s tourism sector through high-end tourists for more than two decades. The hotel currently provides direct employment to about 325 people, said Corporate President Rani Bang.
The hotel, which was conceived and built before the start of the 10-year conflict, was soft-opened in 2000, when the conflict was at its peak.
