Kathmandu. The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Prof. Dr. Achyut Prasad Wagle, took the oath of office and secrecy before Prime Minister and Chancellor of Kathmandu University, KP Sharma Oli today.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Wagle took the oath at a program organized at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Chancellor Oli appointed Dr. Wagle on Monday, based on the recommendation of the Search and Recommendation Committee formed to select the vacant Vice-Chancellor of the university, in accordance with Section 13 (4) of the University Act, 2048 BS.
Prime Minister Oli wished the work to be carried out with caution in the coming days, taking into account the context of the delay in the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor.
Minister for Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, Secretary to the Ministry of Education Dr. Deepak Kafle, among others, were present on the occasion. The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Wagle, was previously the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of the university.
