Kathmandu. The government has announced that it will replace all the bridges with suspension bridges in the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83. Presenting the policy and program of the Government of Nepal for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 in the joint house of parliament today, President Ram Chandra Poudel mentioned that the bridges will be replaced with suspension bridges.
He informed that the goal is to promote public and private investment in the field of physical infrastructure for high and sustainable economic growth, and to expand road, rail and water transport as the main means of transportation.
‘The expansion and development of railways will be continued. “Major highways will be improved and upgraded to be connected to the road network for the expansion of interstate road transport,” President Poudel said. “The National Transport, Private and Public Vehicles and Transport Management Act, and the Road Safety Act will be formulated. To reduce road accidents, road conditions will be improved, passenger-targeted awareness programs will be conducted, and drivers will be made responsible for enhancing their capacity.”
He said that road sections of strategic and commercial importance will be gradually constructed and upgraded, and sick bridges and road projects will be improved.
The government aims to implement all projects operated with foreign assistance as soon as possible and to construct special bridges on national highways.
