Bhaktapur. Suryabinayak Municipality has started administrative services from its own new building from today.
Earlier, the municipality was operating its administrative office from a rented house of Tanka Prasad Acharya Pratishthan. The municipality spokesperson and ward chairman of ward no. 7, Rabindra Sapkota, informed that the services have started from its own building from today. He said, ‘The services have started by moving the office of the mayor, deputy mayor and other important branches to the new building.’ All branches will be shifted to the new building for public holidays tomorrow and the day after.
The new building has 92 offices, a breastfeeding room, disabled-friendly facilities, a two-story basement parking lot with a capacity of 500 vehicles, two elevators with a capacity of eight people, a seminar hall with a capacity of 300 people, two meeting rooms, a library and a training room, Spokesperson Sapkota informed.
Mayor Vasudev Thapa, who first assumed the office of mayor in 2074 BS, informed that the municipality, which had operated an office with two rooms and two government employees when he assumed the office, has started services from its own well-equipped building today.

The municipality, which has been paying a monthly rent of Rs 120,000, has stated that the building was constructed with Rs 20 million from the federal government, Rs 75 million from the District Coordination Committee and the rest from its own investment. The municipality said that it is preparing to declare it a child-friendly municipality by the middle of the upcoming 2083 Jestha.
