Kailali. Suresh Bishwakarma, a young businessman from Boradandi, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-3 of the district, has been running a nursery business for a long time. He has been saving Rs 40,000 monthly from this business.
Some time ago, Bishwakarma started a nursery business after gaining work experience by working in a company that was doing plant-related work in Kathmandu. He has been running the business by renting four kattas of land at an annual payment of Rs 150,000.
Says that he has invested Rs 5 million so far and has been saving Rs 40,000 monthly from this business. His family consists of a husband, wife, parents and two children. He said that he has been supporting the entire family’s upbringing as well as the education of his children through this business. Bishwakarma informed that he has been paying a monthly salary of Rs 12,000 to the three workers working in the business.
‘This business is a little riskier than other businesses,’ he said. ‘Sometimes, due to adverse environmental conditions, plants can deteriorate, rot, and become diseased, resulting in losses.’
Bishwakarma said that he started the business with the belief that one can earn money not only abroad but also at home. He said that he has been selling various types of fruits, seedlings and so on from places such as Jhapa, Biratnagar, Itahari and Kanchanpur in Nepal. He said that he produces some of the seedlings himself in the nursery.
