Kathmandu. The government has approved the Supplementary Grant Procedure, 2081. The Cabinet meeting held on Magh 20 has repealed the Special Grant Procedure, 2081, the Co-Investment Procedure, 2077, and the Procedure for Cash Transfer to Extremely Poor Families Affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic, 2078.
Similarly, the government has nominated Shree Krishna Nepal, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, on behalf of Nepal, for the appointment as the Alternate Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank.
Announcing the decisions of the meeting, Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung said that the government has decided to develop and operate Block B and Block C of the Simara Special Economic Zone on the land provided by the Government of Nepal under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model by developing infrastructure from the private sector. He said that the decision has been made to give approval accordingly.
According to him, the government has decided to give in-principle approval to formulate a bill to make provisions regarding land acquisition and immovable property acquisition and to extend the working period of the recommendation committee formed to appoint the executive head of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority by 35 days.

In accordance with Article 93, Clause 910 of the Constitution of Nepal, both houses of the Federal Parliament will meet at the International Conference Center, New Baneshwor, on Friday, 18 Magh, 2081 BS, at 1 pm. To recommend to the Honorable President to convene the session of the House in accordance with Article 66, Clause 920 of the Constitution of Nepal.

Section 6 of the Special Economic Zone Act, 2073 and the Special Economic Zone Regulations to develop and operate Block B and Block C of the Simra Special Economic Zone by developing infrastructure from the private sector on the land provided by the Government of Nepal and to operate it under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. Approval will be given as per Section 9A of Rule 3 of 2074.
Nepal Water Supply Corporation, Tinau Ga.P., Palpa District, required for Butwal Water Supply Project. To grant approval to acquire approximately 30 ropanis of land in Ward No.-3.
To grant approval to Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya to participate in the 2024: A Global Election Year—Reclaiming and Reclaiming of Democratic Space International Conference (January 23-24), National Voters’ Day (January 25, 2025) and Republic Day Parade (January 26) to be held in New Delhi, India from 10 to 13 Magh, 2081.
To grant approval in principle to formulate a bill to make provisions regarding land acquisition and acquisition of immovable property. To extend the term of the recommendation committee formed to appoint the Executive Chief of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority by thirty-five days.
To approve the remuneration for the newly approved diplomatic staff posts, newly approved local staff posts and newly approved service staff posts in Nepali missions abroad as mentioned in the attached schedule.
To approve the attached Agreement between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic, Official and Service Passports and to sign the said Agreement with its counterparts. To authorize the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
To designate Rjun Prasad Pokharel, Secretary of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, as the Chairman of the National Cooperative Regulatory Authority until the Chairman is appointed.
To give prior approval to conduct a survey on the organization and management of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and its subordinate bodies. To approve the submission of the Bill to the Federal Parliament, 2081, to make provisions regarding the operation, use and regulation of social media.
To transfer Lokraj Parajuli, Secretary of the Commission on Investigation of Enforced Disappearances, to the post of Deputy Attorney General of the Attorney General’s Office, and Khemraj Gyawali, Deputy Attorney General of the Attorney General’s Office, to the post of Secretary of the Commission on Investigation of Enforced Disappearances.
