Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the state has not shown the desired respect and support to the returnees .
Speaking at a programme organized on the occasion of the foundation day of the Return Centre at the party’s central office in Paris Danda on Monday, Chairman Dahal said the state has failed to respect the sentiments and contributions of the returnees.
He claimed that though the Maoist-led government had introduced a special package programme for the returnees, he had received information that the budget of the programme had been shifted after the change of government. Appreciating the contribution of foreign returnees, he said the government should come up with special schemes.
“The level of importance that the state should give to the returnees and respect the feelings of the returnees has not happened,” he said. But when our party and our party-led government were in power, we tried to put forward the program in a package called return entrepreneurship program so that the return center and returners should be given special importance in the policy program of the state and also in the budget budget. We also tried to emphasize its importance and necessity in policies and programs. We were clear that when there was a Maoist-led government, we should give priority to this sector and also facilitate their contribution to the state. We are still clear. But unfortunately, we have come to know that the amount allocated by us was taken elsewhere after we went out of the government. ’
He said that the returnees have an important role to play for the economic and social development of the country.
