Standard Chartered Bank plants more than 700 saplings on Environment Day

Kathmandu. Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited has organized a massive tree plantation program on the occasion of World Environment Day 2025. More than 350 employees of the bank participated in the event.

More than 700 saplings of more than 20 species have been planted under the programme. The bank believes that this campaign aimed at promoting greenery, preserving biodiversity and having a positive impact on environmental sustainability will contribute to the long-term environmental balance.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank Gorakh Rana, Deputy CEO Sarbendra Mishra and School Vice-Principal Pemba Tshering Sherpa jointly inaugurated the plantation drive. On this occasion, they also participated in the inspection, cleaning and conservation of saplings planted last year.

The Bank has been conducting various green activities every year in the context of Environment Day. In addition to planting trees, various dialogues and sanitation activities were also conducted to increase environmental awareness among the employees.
