Kathmandu. Minister for Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary has pledged to make the physical infrastructures of the sports sector disabled-friendly. He made the commitment while replying to questions raised by lawmakers in the National Assembly meeting on Monday.
Stating that the stadiums to be constructed in the coming days and the stadiums under construction would be made disabled-friendly, he said narayani stadium in Madhes province would also be made disabled-friendly.
Minister Chaudhary said, “We will have to build many stadiums and big stadiums in the coming days. Even the old stadiums have not been repaired as expected. Narayani Stadium is the first stadium in Madhes province, Dasharath stadium in Nepal and Narayani Stadium in second. We are moving ahead to make the stadium disabled-friendly as the physical infrastructure is still not good in that stadium. Now we are planning to make new infrastructure disabled-friendly while building and maintaining it. Now all the stadiums built will be disabled-friendly. ’
Minister Chaudhary said that Dasharath Stadium has not been fully disabled-friendly and Pokhara Stadium has been made disabled-friendly.
