Agency. The Spanish Statistics Office (INE) confirmed on Wednesday that the Spanish economy grew by 0.6 percent in the first quarter of 2025. However, growth was 0.1 percent lower than in the last quarter of 2024.

The figures show that the Spanish economy has made a positive start to the year in a global context dominated by US President Donald Trump’s tariff policies and the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. Positive levels of private consumption and investment in the first three months of 2025 have boosted Spain’s gross domestic product.

Private consumption grew by 0.6 percent. While investment rose by 0.9 percent. This is 0.3 percent more than expected. But less than the 3.0 percent increase in the last three months of 2024.
