Birgunj. Exports of refined soybean and sunflower oil to foreign countries have increased through the Birgunj border during the first six months of the current fiscal year.
According to Amit Tiwari, Information Officer of the Birgunj Customs Office, 56 million 66 thousand liters of refined soybean oil worth Rs 11.99 billion 18 million have been exported during the first six months of the current fiscal year.
During the first six months of the previous fiscal year, 101 thousand 301 liters of refined soybean oil worth Rs 31 million 11 million were exported. He informed that the export of refined soybean and sunflower oil to neighboring country India has increased in an encouraging manner as it is easy to export.
‘Now, there is a gradual improvement in the export of refined oil to India,’ said Information Officer Tiwari. During the 6 months of the current fiscal year, not only refined soybean oil but also refined sunflower oil exports have increased.
In the 6 months of the current fiscal year, 22.845 thousand liters of refined sunflower oil worth 3.21 billion 91 million were exported. In the same period of the last fiscal year, sunflower oil worth 99.41 million was exported, according to the office.
