Sonari region to be facilitated by infrastructure development

Banke. Sonari area of Rapti Sonari rural municipality in Banke district has become easier after the construction of postal road and bridge over Rapti river. Baijapur, Binauna and Fatepur, which were located across the Rapti river in the past, have now become accessible after the construction of the postal road along the Rapti bridge connecting Kachanapur and Binauna.

Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-3 Ward Chair Min Kumar Chaudhary said that the commercial activities of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality are increasing. “The people of Sonari area have been able to experience development after the construction of postal roads and bridges and commercial transactions are also increasing,” he said. ’

With the construction of roads and bridges, the number of domestic tourists visiting the religious and tourist places located in Binauna and Baijapur across the Rapti has increased. The number of people visiting the famous Bhuwar Bhawani Temple in Baijapur, Dhumaiya Park in Baba Barfani and Binauna and the newly constructed Rapti Bridge is increasing.

Chet Bahadur Bista, principal of Bhuwarbhawani Secondary School at Binauna of Rapti Sonari-5, said that the development of infrastructure including postal road and bridge over Rapti river has positively affected the economic and overall social standard of living of the people of Sonari area.

Along with the Nepalgunj-Bagauda postal road, the postal road section connecting Kunda of Rapti Sonari to the East-West Highway at Agaia via Narayanpur has been expanded. Bista said vehicular movement is increasing as this postal road is shorter than the main highway from Nepalgunj to Agaia via Kohalpur.

Zaman Singh Oli of Rapti Sonari-5 said that after the construction of rapti bridge connecting Kachanapur and Binauna, there has been direct link between the river Wari and pari of the rural municipality. Stating that the rapti sonari has witnessed the movement of businessmen with the development of infrastructures including roads and bridges, he said the local government should now come up with a plan to improve the economic standard of the people through agriculture.
