Baglung. Baglung: Tamankhola rural municipality of Baglung has distributed bee hives to 22 single women. The municipality has purchased and distributed the ghar for Rs 300,000.
Heera Kumari Chhantyal, vice-chairperson of the rural municipality, said that bees and hives were distributed by teaching skills to make single women self-reliant by connecting them with business.
He said that he has been providing technical support including grants. As tamankhola area is suitable for beekeepers, one hive has been provided in the first phase and additional assistance will be provided if they work professionally, she said.
“This year, we have provided training on beekeeping and beehives so that single women can be taught skills and connect them with business,” said Chhantyal.
Jasdevi Chhantyal of Tamankhola Rural Municipality-6 shared her plan to run her family through beekeeping and raise her children’s education expenses.
