Shrestha arrested for stealing liquor and cashew nuts worth over Rs. 200,000 from Bhatbhateni

Kathmandu. A man has been arrested for stealing liquor and food items worth Rs 218,000 from Bhatbhateni Super Market and Departmental Store in Naxal and absconding.

On April 20, Bimal Shrestha, 37, of Baiteshwor Rural Municipality-2 in Dolakha, who had stolen various brands of liquor, cigarettes, cashew nuts and pistachios and other high-value food items from the grocery store on the ground floor of Bhatbhateni Super Market, was arrested by the police from Thimi in Bhaktapur.

The District Police Range Kathmandu has made him public today. Kathmandu Police Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara informed that Shrestha has been remanded for five days by the District Court, Kathmandu and is being investigated.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested the absconding defendant in a case involving a fine of Rs 15 million. Amit Agrawal, 47, who was sentenced to 30 days in prison and a fine of Rs 10 million by the District Court, Kathmandu, almost two years ago in a banking offence case, was arrested by the police today from Swayambhu.

The police have stated that he has been handed over to the court for execution of the verdict.
