Seven states spent Rs 100 billion in 10 months.

Kathmandu. In the 10 months of the current fiscal year, the state governments have spent Rs 117 billion. According to Nepal Rastra Bank( NRB), the state government has mobilised Rs 161.77 billion in the same period. Based on the recommendation of the National Natural Resources and Finance Commission, the federal government had provided Financial Equalization Grant of Rs 60 billion to the state government. A conditional grant of Rs 25.84 billion and a supplementary grant of Rs 6.2 billion were provided for the implementation of infrastructure projects.

The total resource mobilization of the provincial governments included rs 123.15 billion including grants handed over by the federal government and revenue to be distributed from the divisible fund and Rs 38.62 billion from the state governments mobilized and other sources.

According to the central bank, the bank has cash reserves of Rs 3360.98 billion (including the amount in the state government and local government accounts) in various government accounts in the bank as of mid-April. Such reserves stood at Rs 93.96 billion in mid-July 2081 BS.

During the review period, the total revenue mobilisation of the Government of Nepal (including the amount to be distributed to the provincial government and local government) reached Rs 922.43 billion.
