Securities Board issues merchant banker license

Kathmandu. The Securities and Exchange Board of Nepal (SEBON) is set to issue licenses to merchant banks. The board has announced in a statement today that it will start issuing licenses that have been suspended for 6 years.

‘Since the issuance of merchant banker business licenses has been suspended since 8th Shrawan 2075, the issuance of these licenses has now been resumed. ’

‘The Board has decided to resume the issuance of licenses for merchant bankers operating the issuance and sales manager and share registration services under the merchant banking business as per the Merchant Banker Regulations, 2067 BS, as per the Board’s decision dated 8th July, 2075 BS,’ the notification states.

In addition, if an organization licensed under the regulations wishes to issue securities publicly, it has been provided that it has completed ten years of operating the business as per the regulations and has at least one billion paid-up capital, it can issue securities publicly in accordance with the rules, not less than 30 percent. .
