Schools closed in Gorkha due to extreme heat

Gorkha. Schools in Palungtar Municipality have been closed for classes from today due to excessive heat. Mayor Bibash Chintan informed that the decision has been taken to close all community and institutional schools within the municipality for two days.

“The municipality has decided to close all the schools under the municipality today and tomorrow as the children may face problems due to the heat,” he said. According to the municipality, regular classes will be held from June 1. Similarly, Anbukhaireni rural municipality of Tanahun has also decided to give summer holidays to all community and institutional schools today and tomorrow.

According to the decision of the rural municipality, it has been decided to give two days leave keeping in mind the impact on the health of the students due to heat. Issuing a notice, the rural municipality has urged all school operators, parents and concerned bodies to take necessary precautions. “The decision to close the schools has been taken to minimize the problems caused by the heat wave and everyone is requested to take necessary precautions,” said the notice issued by shukra Chuman, chairperson of the rural municipality.

The rural municipality has urged the students to stay indoors or in cold places, drink plenty of water, not go out in the sun in the afternoon, eat fresh fruits and nutritious food and participate in physical exercise or sports only in the evening morning.
