Kathmandu. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has reduced the budget expenditure and revenue estimates. Presenting the revised budget estimates in the House of Representatives, Minister Poudel estimated that the budget will be spent by 167 billion 56 billion 95 million less.
The government had presented a budget of 1860 billion 30 million in the current fiscal year. After 6 months, the Ministry of Finance has revised its estimate to spend 1692 billion 73 million 35 million. This amount is 90.99 percent of the initial allocation.
The revised estimate is 1286 billion 98 million 11 million, against the target of collecting 1471 billion 162 million 29 million. This is a reduction of 184 billion 648.4 million compared to the total target.
The Ministry of Finance estimates that the internal debt will reach 320 billion against the target of 330 billion. Strongly criticizing the opposition parties in the House of Representatives, Minister Poudel has commented that the current budget is a burden on the parliament.
