Kathmandu. Savitri Devi Smriti Pratishthan has honoured various people who have contributed to the society. On the occasion of the 14th memorial day of late Savitri Devi Neupane, various people were honoured. Health volunteers Man Kumari Lama, Anisma Tamang and Dr. Nasima Tamang were present at Panauti in Kavrepalanchowk on Wednesday. Ashish Lamichhane and cooperative activist Bharat Prasad Sharma have been honoured. Health worker Lama received Rs 10,000, Tamang Rs 10,000, campaigner Sharma Rs 25,000 and Dr. Sharma Rs 25,000. Lamichhane was honoured with Rs 25,000.
Chairperson of Maiti Nepal Anuradha Koirala honoured everyone with a shawl and cash. Speaking at the programme in the presence of senior citizens, Koirala said the problem of drug abuse was increasing in the society. She drew the attention of the government to increase surveillance in dixo, bar and club as there are unwanted activities at present.
She drew attention to the fact that children between the ages of 13 and 19 are addicted to this and it is not a good thing to sell drugs.
At the event, Dr. Nepali Congress leader Madhu Prasad Acharya, youth activist Bhusan Shrestha, among others, spoke on the role played by the academy. The Foundation has handed over medical supplies to the senior citizens of Khopasi.
Activist Shrestha has donated Rs 25,000. Life members, family members, senior citizens and media persons were present on the occasion. Chairperson of Panauti-11, Vipin Lama, Ganapati of Nepal Army, former President of Federation of Nepali Journalists,Kavre, among others, were present on the occasion.
