Saudi Arabia launches initiative to repatriate Nepali migrant workers

Kathmandu. The Embassy of Nepal in Saudi Arabia has initiated necessary initiatives to repatriate nepali workers who have been rendered jobless at The Sendan International Company in Jubail.

Some of the 469 Nepali nationals, who were rendered jobless due to the collapse of the employer company, had requested to provide salary and allowances and take initiative to return to Nepal and transfer to other companies.

Following the request of the workers, the Embassy has said that it is continuously taking diplomatic initiatives to resolve the problem. According to the Embassy of Nepal, necessary documents have also been sent to the concerned labor office of the Saudi government for the exit visa in case of those who want to return to Nepal.

According to the Embassy, necessary initiatives have been taken to issue exit visas as soon as possible to Nepali workers wishing to go to Nepal from Saudi Arabia, especially those working in Sendan International Company.

The talks and discussions held at the Ministry of Labour and other concerned agencies of the Saudi government have progressed positively to facilitate the necessary process for those who want to return to Nepal after completing the legal basis to get the remaining services and to get employment by transferring to other Companies of Saudi Arabia.

Nepali nationals in distress have been asked to be patient and contact the Embassy if they face problems related to food, accommodation and health.
