Bhojpur. More than eight and a half thousand saplings have been distributed in the district to connect farmers to enterprises along with the development of the forest sector. With the aim of connecting farmers here to income generation, the Division Forest Office has distributed saplings including Dante Okhar, Timur, Rudraksha and others.
To connect farmers to income generation through forest enterprises, 3,200 Dante Okhar, 1,600 Timur, 1,100 Satuwa, 1,000 Rudraksha and Tejpata and 550 loads of pine saplings have been distributed, informed Kapildev Adhikari, Forest Officer of the Division Forest Office.
The saplings have been distributed to farmers, agricultural and herbal firms, forest groups and various organizations in the district on the basis of demand. According to the officer, the saplings are being distributed to farmers through various programs with the aim of supporting farmers financially along with the development of the green sector. He informed that the target is to distribute 80,000 saplings in the months of Asar and Shrawan from the nurseries operating in Dingla, Yaku, Balangkha and the district.
‘We have emphasized on programs that will generate income for farmers along with the development of the forest sector,’ he said, ‘We have distributed more than eight and a half thousand saplings so far. We have set a target of distributing 80,000 saplings.’
The office has stated that sapling planting programs are being conducted in the rural municipality and various places in Pauwadung on the occasion of National Arbor Day 2082 and World Environment Day. The tree planting was carried out in Bhakimle Community Forest in Bhojpur Municipality-5 with the participation of representatives of local community forest user groups, forest product business associations, stakeholders and organizations. The office says that this work will be carried out continuously.
