Rural municipality to include informal sector workers in fund

Bagmati. Bhimphedi Rural Municipality of Makawanpur has affiliated 199 workers from the informal sector to the Social Security Fund.

As part of the campaign to affiliate workers from the informal sector to the Social Security Fund, which began last fiscal year, 199 workers have been affiliated to the fund so far, informed the Rural Municipality Chairman Fid Lama.

As part of the campaign, arrangements have been made to deposit 11 percent of the monthly salary of Rs 10,820 for informal sector workers, or 1,180 and 1,14 by the Rural Municipality, totaling 2,204, in the Social Security Fund. 2.5 million has been allocated in the current fiscal year to affiliate workers to the fund.
