Kathmandu. Rupandehi: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSSP) has decided to finalize the candidate selection process for the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi-3 from the secretariat on Sunday.

The decision was taken at a secretariat meeting held at the party office in Banasthali on Thursday, party general secretary Kabindra Burlakoti said. He said extensive discussions were held on the proposal to select eligible candidates for the by-election. According to him, the candidate selection procedure will be finalized on the basis of the suggestions received in the meeting. According to him, the meeting also decided to continue the demand for the formation of a high-level inquiry commission in the visit visa case.

He said that the meeting reiterated the stand that the Home Minister should resign to make the investigation process fair and credible.

Announcing the decisions of the meeting, he said, “Extensive discussion was held on the method of selection of candidates presented in today’s secretariat meeting for selecting eligible candidates on behalf of Rastriya Swatantra Party for the upcoming by-election to Rupandehi constituency-3 to be held on November 15.” It has been decided to present the candidate selection procedure for approval in the meeting to be held on Sunday by incorporating the suggestions received in the meeting. ’

The meeting also termed the changes in the process related to the Federal Civil Service Bill passed by the State Affairs Committee of the Parliament as malicious and a serious attack on the sovereignty of the Parliament. The party has objected to the changes made in the cooling-off period of the bill and demanded the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee to investigate and take action against those involved in the process.
