Running Parliament during agitation is bullying: Chief Whip Shahi

Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chief whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi has objected to the parliament session being held amid protests by lawmakers. Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, he objected. He said that it was not appropriate to run the parliament session when there was an agitation in the parliament.

Stating that the ruling party and the opposition were the people’s representatives won by all the people, he urged all to join the demand of taking action against the culprits in the visit visa case. Stating that it was not a parliamentary practice to run the parliament amid the agitation, Lawmaker Shahi urged the government to stop bullying as it was dadagiri.

“Is it appropriate to run the parliament like this when there is an agitation in the parliament? I don’t think it’s fair. They, too, are the people’s representatives elected by the people. Everyone should join the demand for action against the culprits in the visit visa case. Running parliament like this is not a parliamentary practice. This is bullying. Stop bullying. ‘

The RASTRIYA Prajatantra Party (RSP) has been obstructing parliament since May 13 demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and a high-level inquiry committee. Lawmakers of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSS) have been raising slogans in the House of Representatives on Sunday. Speaker Devraj Ghimire has moved the parliament amidst protests by the RASTRIYA Janata Party( NCP).
