Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has said that the election system should be changed to allocate the right budget. He said this during a discussion on the allocated budget in the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday.
He argued that the budget would not be changed without changing the electoral system. He said that the lawmakers would have been elected by the people to build schools, build roads, develop infrastructures including education, health, end poverty, create employment and fulfill all the issues of development.
He claimed that the lawmakers of the ruling party were more dissatisfied with the budget than the opposition.
“Let’s change this election system. The budget will not change without changing the electoral system. It continues to be traditional. Because that’s the pressure to make this budget. The pressure on the government is the pressure of the electoral system. Lawmakers elected by the people are saying that they will build schools, build roads, develop infrastructure including education, health, end poverty, create employment and fulfill all the issues of development. Lawmakers from the ruling party are more dissatisfied with the budget than the opposition. Because there is a lot of effort. The government has made many efforts to make the ruling party lawmakers happy. But it could not. Let’s change it. ’
He argued that the Finance Minister would have the biggest role of nation building.
