Kathmandu. The government has allocated Rs 57.48 billion for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel said this during the budget speech for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
According to him, the reach of small and medium farmers will be expanded in the agriculture and livestock insurance program. He said rs 2.30 billion has been allocated for the premium subsidy for crop and animal insurance.
He said that the development of Kisan App and sms service would be organized to provide regular information to the farmers regarding weather forecast, price of agricultural produce and availability of agricultural materials.
