Rasuwa. Rasuwa: The revenue received from customs duty on goods imported from neighbouring China through Rasuwa customs point has been made public. A total of Rs 28.71 billion revenue has been collected from the duty of imported goods from Mid-July to Mid-May of the current fiscal year and has already been deposited in the state exchequer.
According to Chief Customs Officer Tulsi Prasad Bhattarai, the revenue has increased by 52 percent compared to the same period of the last fiscal year. In the 11 months of the last fiscal year, rs 18.98 billion revenue was collected.
Stating that goods worth rs 80 billion have been imported in the current fiscal year including electric vehicles and others, he said goods worth Rs 3 billion have been exported. According to him, 6,266 units of jeeps, cars, vans, 469 three-wheelers and 1,176 units of microbuses and bus trucks were imported from Mid-July to Mid-May.
Chief Bhattarai said that the department of transport management of the federal government and the motor manufacturing company used to pass the test on the basis of kilowatt certified for the import of vehicles. According to the Rasuwa Customs Office, rs 11.48 billion revenue has been earned from vehicles alone.
