Midpoint: Road expansion work in the Daunne area along the Narayangadh-Butwal road will be carried out by closing traffic until April 31. Earlier, the road expansion work was carried out by stopping traffic from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am until April 15, and it will continue until April 31.
According to Bhaviswar Pandey, Chief District Officer of Navalrasi (Bardaghat Sustapur), as the construction work in the Daunne area will continue for a few more days, traffic will be stopped from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am the next day until April 31.
‘The construction work has now been accelerated by stopping traffic at night to carry out necessary road maintenance and construction work in the Daunne section,’ he said. ‘In that section, it has been decided to stop traffic for a few more days to complete the work that remains to be done on the wall before the rains. .’
Earlier, road expansion work was being carried out on the Daunne road section from Chaitra 27 to Chaitra 31 from 11:00 to 3:00 in the day and from 11:00 to 5:00 in the morning from 2082 Baisakh 1.
Currently, work is underway to cut down hills, build walls and construct culverts in the Daunne section, said Engineer Shiva Khanal, Information Officer of the Eastern Section.
Out of 65 kilometers of the 114-kilometer Narayangadh-Butwal road from Gaindakot to Daunne, the service lane is included in the market area and is considered a high-risk area. Work is underway to widen the road to three lanes on a 14-kilometer section.
The China State Engineering Corporation, which has been awarded the road construction contract at a cost of 17 billion, has so far extended the deadline three times. The third extension is until 2082 Shrawan 8 after the work was not completed on time.
