RK Sharma’s candidacy for NRN president with panel, ‘special support from Prime Minister Prachanda’

Kathmandu. Rajendra Kumar (RK) Sharma, the candidate for the post of president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), has said that he has an agenda to unite NRNAs from all over the world, including the Middle East.

Referring to accusations by some that he is carrying a regional agenda, Sharma said that he has an agenda to unite NRNAs from all over the world and give momentum to the organization.

At a press conference held in the capital, Sharma said that his manifesto includes a plan to include NRNAs living in the Middle East, Europe, America and other parts of the world. He also said that if elected, he would strive to fulfill his election pledge honestly.

‘If you look at my pledge, it includes a plan to include Nepalis from all over the world. “Since the Middle East has not received leadership in the 20-year campaign of the NRNA, we just need all the activists to support us,” he said, adding, “All friends are positive.”

He said that he had received positive responses from countries including the US, Australia, and Europe, and expressed confidence that the entire team would win the election.

Sharma claimed that he had received the support of all political parties in fulfilling the sacred objective of the NRNA and said that he was aware that there should be no politics in the NRNA. Sharma also said that the NRNA has been working in collaboration with political parties.

Noting that he had entered the election fray with a promise to do 24 things in 24 months, Sharma also said that his first priority was unity among the NRNAs. For that, he said that he would take honest initiatives and bring together all the NRNAs who are out of the campaign.

‘For some time now, there has been no unity in the Non-Resident Nepali Federation. That has hindered us from achieving our target objectives,’ Sharma said, ‘The responsibility has fallen on our shoulders to unite it in any way. I am continuously trying. I have also vowed to leave by uniting.’

The NRNA election officials made their views public at the press conference, supporting Sharma.

Working Committee Vice President DB Chhetri said that it is necessary to establish the workers’ issue and increase the belonging of everyone to make everyone belong.

Malaysia Khagendra Neupan, who became the vice-president candidate in support of Sharma, said that the 24-month-24 promises presented by Sharma are his agenda and that if he and Sharma are elected as vice-president, he will implement them.

Japan’s Robindra Prasad Shrestha (Govinda) said that he has filed his candidacy for the vice-president position by supporting RK Sharma to establish the agenda of working people and workers. .

Sashi Poudel of the Netherlands said that the NRNA is a confluence of all views and said that it will be completed only if RK Sharma is elected as the president, so he supported him and became the vice-presidential candidate.

“There are many other organizations that do politics, I am close to the Congress in my views,” Poudel said, “The agenda moved by Sharma has included all sides and ideas.”

Australian Abhimansingh Basnet said that he supported RK Sharma and became the vice-presidential candidate because he carried the agenda of carrying out social work projects and community work in Australia. He informed that he has put forward a proposal to build Pashupatinath and Buddhist Stupa in Australia for $1.5 million.

Another candidate for vice-president, Raj Regmi, expressed his support for Sharma’s candidacy and wished him well.

Qatar’s Abdul Basid said that he supported Sharma and became the candidate for the youth vice-president because RK Sharma had a plan to increase the representation of youth within the country. Pravin Gurung from Qatar said that he is supporting RK Sharma as he has come with an agenda to make the NRNA inclusive and prosperous and is running for the post of Deputy Secretary General.

Secretary candidate Lok Dahal from Belgium said that he supported Sharma as he had put forward a plan to promote transparency in the NRNA organization and the second generation in the campaign with a plan of 24 months and 24 promises and so he has filed his candidacy for the post of Vice-Secretary.

Secretary candidate Tank Gaire from Japan said that he supported him as he had put his candidacy for the post of Secretary as RK Sharma had brought a plan to increase many projects in Nepal with small investment.

Secretary candidate Manoj Kumar Shrestha (Gorkhali) from the UAE said that he supported him as he had put forward the agenda of unity in the non-residential campaign. .

Secretary candidate RC Pokharel from the US said that he supported Sharma as he brought an agenda to change the restructuring of the NRNA secretariat.

Treasurer candidate Thakur Dhungana said that he is supporting RK Sharma as part of the plan to increase transparency and fund size in the NRNA.

Female coordinator candidate Devika KC from Canada said that she supported RK Sharma to advance folk culture and became a candidate.

Sharma registered her candidacy for the presidency on Friday after the press conference. This is Sharma’s first candidacy for the presidency. She has the support of the ruling Maoist Center. Sharma, known as an NRN activist close to the Maoists, has maintained close relations with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.
