Myagdi. The ring road upgrade project has started in the district headquarters Beni Bazaar. The road connecting Kaligandaki and Myagdi rivers, which connects Kalipul in Beni Municipality-8 to Darwang Bus Park in Ward No. 7, has started to be upgraded.

Bikesh-Dupcheshwor-Subham JV, which has signed a contract with the Intensive Urban and Building Construction Project Office, Baglung for Rs 3.9 million, has started the construction of the drain in the first phase. Birbal Sunar, engineer of the project office, informed that through the project, a retaining wall, drain, railings will be constructed on the corners of the 900-meter road and a slope will be made at a width of five to six meters.

The road built behind the concrete wall built to control the erosion of the Kaligandaki and Myagdi rivers in Beni Bazaar is being upgraded by filling it with soil. Mayor Surat KC said that the municipality has proposed the Beni Ring Road Upgradation Plan under the 10 Model Municipality Programs put forward by the Government of Nepal, and the plan has been moved forward with the budget allocation.

‘After the ring road is upgraded, it will be easier for large vehicles to move through the ring road,’ he said. ‘The problem of dust currently flying from the ring road reaching the market and causing pollution will also be solved after the upgrade.’ To reduce traffic pressure on the roads inside Beni Bazaar, arrangements have been made to operate goods vehicles and vehicles that do not have to stop inside the market from the ring road.

After the ring road upgrade is completed, there is a plan to plant flowers along the road and beautify it by electrifying it, informed Ward Chairman of Beni-8 Uttam Kumar Karmacharya. Under the three-year plan, a proposal has been made to the Ministry of Urban Development to construct the Darwang Bus Park slope for the fiscal year 2082/83 and the terminal building at the bus park in 2083/84. The project will be completed within the stipulated time by mobilizing sufficient labor and equipment, said Subash Chandra Karki, a representative of the construction company.
