Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Nepal Communist Party (UML) lawmaker Bhim Prasad Acharya has said that the proposal of revenue made in the budget is challenging. Acharya said this while participating in a theoretical discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure in the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday.
He claimed that the budget was relatively realistic, problem-centric and problem-oriented and solution-oriented. Stating that efforts have been made to improve the economy and bring a budget according to the current economic situation, Acharya said that the government was trying to present the budget as a solution-oriented and investment-friendly, technology-friendly and realistic budget for the private sector.
He claimed that the budget was focused on getting the return by completing the project quickly, overcoming the situation of the past where investment was made in the past but did not yield results. According to him, the current geopolitical situation will have an impact on the supply chain, price rise and export-related matters and will have a negative impact on the income generation.
“In the budget, the finance minister has said how to raise resources and rs 1,315 billion towards revenue,” he said. It is proposed to collect Rs 1,480 billion in total revenue, adding Rs 165 billion to be transferred from the revenue to the state and local levels. This includes Rs 53.45 billion in foreign grants, Rs 233.66 billion in foreign loans and Rs 362 billion in internal loans. The kind of proposal it is, it is very challenging. The budget is relatively realistic. Problem-focused, problem-based and solution-focused. It has tried to improve the economy and bring a budget according to the current economic situation. It is trying to solve the problems of the private sector. And it is trying to present itself as an investment-friendly, technology-friendly, realistic budget. ‘
“This budget is oriented towards focusing on development projects, restructuring them in a new way and getting project-centric returns. And the priority-oriented way to prioritize this project is that it is trying to complete the project by setting priorities. And it is in the form of an enterprise development-friendly budget. In this sense, these are some important features of the budget,” he said.
He, however, said that implementation as per the features of the budget and collection of revenue or raising resources were the challenges.
