Kathmandu. The Nepal Council of Industries has urged the government and the concerned parties to make arrangements for regular power supply to the industrial sector. The Nepal Electricity Authority has been harassing industrialists by cutting power load for 12 hours a day, so the council has demanded full power supply.
The council issued a statement today, saying, “Even when there is electricity surplus in the country, the authority has not provided enough power to the industry and has exported it, has it not now encouraged industries not to operate in the country by cutting power load in the industry?” The council said that the lack of electricity in the industry has increased production costs and seriously affected production. The statement said, “At a time when the government is trying to promote domestic industries, improve laws to boost the morale of the private sector, and create an investment environment, the electricity load shedding by the Electricity Authority, a government body, has left the industry in a state of shock.”
