Kathmandu. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and Arno Koswa, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), met today. In a meeting held at the Home Ministry in Singha Durbar, Home Minister Lekhak expressed his gratitude for the ADB’s contribution to the construction of physical infrastructure.
Also, Minister Lekhak requested ADB to assist in the construction of a model dry port by upgrading the Gaddachauki-Kohalpur section of the East-West Highway, supporting the construction of the Mahakali Corridor road, which is being developed as an important trade route in the Far West, upgrading the road from Godavari to Dadeldhura in Kailali, and constructing other physical structures around the Dodhara Chadani dry port, which is under construction with Indian assistance.
Similarly, Minister Lekhak and ADB Director Koswa discussed the construction of a modern city being built in the Far West Municipality with the support of ADB. Discussions have been held on the issue of further continuity and support for infrastructure development in the religious tourism sector of the Far West.
In the discussion with the ADB representative, Minister Lekhak also emphasized the implementation of the ‘Survey Report’ conducted by ADB last year for the tourism development of the Far West. ADB Director Koswa said that he will discuss the matter with the higher levels of ADB and respond.
