Taksar. After the endangered red panda was found in Bhojpur, a conservation campaign has been launched. A red panda conservation program has been launched in one ward each of Paschim Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality and Salpasilicho Rural Municipality of the district to conserve the red panda.
Since the red panda, which is considered rare in the world, has started to be seen in the district, a program has been launched in two municipalities to conserve it, said Ganesh Shrestha, chairman of the collective campaign. In coordination with the Red Panda Network, the collective campaign has launched a red panda conservation campaign in Temkemaiyung-1 and Salpasilicho-5.
Rare and endangered red pandas are found in the forest areas around the Mundum Padmarg in Temkemaiyung. Shrestha, the chairman of the organization, said that the field staff of the collective campaign organization’s community-based red panda conservation program met and took pictures of the red panda in the Dhappar Ekrate Community Forest area of Sumlikha in Rural Municipality-1.
Ganesh Pradhan, the general secretary of the organization, said that interaction and discussion programs are being conducted at the district level with the relevant bodies for red panda conservation. A community-based red panda conservation program has been launched with the community forest. Collaboration will be established with the Division Forest Office and related community forests for red panda conservation.
