Kathmandu. World Red Cross Day is being celebrated in various countries of the world today with the slogan ‘Keep Humanity Alive’. World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is celebrated every year on May 8 to honor the millions of volunteers and staff who work for the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement for their humanitarian efforts.

The day also marks the birthday of Henry Dunant, founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

The day is celebrated to honor the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross, and to raise awareness about the principles and work of the global Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, who dedicate their lives to social service with compassion, selflessness and solidarity in the face of natural disasters, wars, medical crises and other disasters. .

In today’s world of growing inequality, health problems and conflict, it is difficult to maintain humanitarian ideals. In such a situation, Red Cross volunteers have expressed their belief that this day will be useful in keeping humanity alive and spreading messages of kindness, peace and hope among the global community.
