Kathmandu. Acting President of the National Independent Party, Dol Prasad Aryal, has drawn the attention of the government to initiate necessary preparations considering the potential risks during the rainy season. Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Acting Speaker Aryal suggested that the government start preparing for the risks related to rain.
He said that floods have started causing distress to the citizens even before the rains begin. He said that the Prime Minister and ministers travel by plane and helicopter, so the condition of the road cannot be known. He said that the reconstruction of the road from Nagdhunga to Mugling is underway at Turtle Lake.
He said that not only will the citizens have to suffer a lot during this rainy season, but there is a high possibility of accidents from small to big, so the concerned bodies need to pay attention to it promptly.
He said, “Before the rainy season begins, There is still more to come. The floods have already started causing suffering to the citizens. There have been reports that the East-West Highway was blocked due to the collapse of the bridge in Nawalparasi, and the BP Highway was blocked due to flooding. Since the Prime Minister and ministers were traveling by airplane and helicopter, there was no way to know the condition of the road. The reconstruction of the road from Nagdhunga to Mugling is being done in Turtle Lake. Not only will the citizens have to suffer a lot during this rainy season, but there is also a high possibility of accidents from small to big, so the concerned bodies should hold discussions with the contractors and the concerned companies as soon as possible.
