Acting Mayor Parbin said that with the operation of the bus park at Rajdevi Tole in Rajdevi Tole of Rajbiraj-2, the traffic on the main roads of the city will be reduced. He said that there is a problem in managing the market as the bus park has not been in operation for a long time. Long and short distance vehicles will be operated from the bus park operated here.
“This is a big infrastructure for Rajbiraj and it will help in beautifying the city,” he said. There was a problem in the management of vehicles in the absence of a well-equipped bus park in Rajbiraj. The then Prime Minister Marichman Singh laid the foundation stone for the first time in 2044 BS, then Zonal Magistrate Surya Bahadur Sen Oli for the second time in 2046 BS and then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba for the third time in 2052 BS.
Secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development Dipendra Nath Sharma and then Mayor of Rajbiraj Municipality Shambhu Prasad Yadav jointly laid the foundation stone of the bus park for the fourth time in 2074 BS. After that, the construction work started. The construction of the bus park could not be completed due to repeated obstructions by the local land owners and the delay of the contractor involved in the construction. An inquiry room, ticket counter, service centre, bankbranch, waiting room, toilet, restaurant, minimarket, assembly hall and police beat have been constructed in the 19,600 square meter bus park near Rajdevi Temple in Rajbiraj-2.
Synergy Builders Pvt Ltd, which was awarded the contract from the Ministry of Urban Development for Rs 163.89 6 million, had signed an agreement for the construction of the bus park on December 16, 2018. The Intensive Urban and Building Construction Project Office, Rajbiraj, had handed over the Rajbiraj Bus Park to Kawa Municipality Mayor Parbin amidst a programme on May 12.
