Kathmandu. The Public Accounts Committee has formed a subcommittee to study complaints.
The Public Accounts Committee under the House of Representatives, which met at Singha Durbar on Friday, will study and discuss the complaints received by the committee by classifying them into various topics. Committee Chairman Hrishikesh Pokharel said that the meeting decided to form seven subcommittees and discuss them. He informed that the subcommittee will be formed to discuss all the complaints received by the committee by giving equal priority.
The subcommittee, named the Complaint Study Task Force by the committee, has said that it will decide on all the complaints within 15 days. Before the task force makes a decision, the committee secretariat has also decided to receive feedback on the complaints within 7 days. Instructions have also been given to submit a study report within 15 days on the complaints received about Pokhara International Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport. He informed that the committee has received complaints under 20 headings.
The task force has been authorized to study and discuss the complaints filed with the committee on Nepal Telecom, Telecommunications Authority, Ministry of Urban Development, Cooperatives, Foreign Employment, Securities and Exchange Board of Nepal, Ministry of Health, Crusher Industry, Central Investigation Bureau, Nepal Scout, Pokhara International Airport, Gautam Buddha International Airport, etc. and recommend a decision, said Chairman Pokharel.
The Accounts Committee has received more than 114 complaints under various headings. The complaints filed with the committee have been categorized into 20 different headings and 48 complaints will be studied and investigated by the task force. A task force has been formed under the coordination of Nepali Congress MP Sanjay Kumar Gautam to study and recommend a decision on 16 complaints, excluding the complaints that have been classified by subject, in the committee.
In the Public Accounts Committee, Nepal Airlines Corporation Executive Chairman Yubaraj Adhikari has filed a complaint against the company for acting against the rules, while Nepal Construction Entrepreneurs Federation President Ravi Singh has filed a complaint alleging that businessmen have increased the prices of cement and rods and engaged in black marketing.
The committee has received complaints about irregularities and corruption in the consultancy service for the construction of power transmission lines by the MCC Nepal office.
