Biratnagar. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged domestic and foreign investors to invest with confidence as Nepal has ample potential and a suitable environment for investment.
Inaugurating the ‘Koshi Investment Summit, 2082’ organized by the Koshi Province Government today, Prime Minister Oli urged the administrative sector to focus on mobilizing internal and external investment as Nepal has ample potential and a suitable environment for investment in various cultural, religious and tourism aspects.
‘At present, all investors can invest with confidence as infrastructure including roads, bridges and others have been constructed. We will not allow any problems on the part of the government. The government is ready to provide necessary cooperation and coordination,’ he said.
Noting that Koshi Province is connected to infrastructure development as well as the road network, Prime Minister Oli mentioned that by the time the investment is made and the products are transported to the market, an Asian-level six-lane east-west highway will be constructed.
‘We need to focus on producing quality goods by bringing in raw materials. Therefore, we can explore new possibilities in every sector,’ he said. Prime Minister Oli believed that since the road infrastructure has been built to transport the produced goods to various corridors and checkpoints in Koshi Province, there will be no inconvenience in marketing and transportation.
‘Various airports, including Biratnagar, will be expanded. Cultural, religious and tourist areas, as well as Mount Everest, will be developed. There is a lot of potential in the Koshi region in various mountain and herbal fields. The people here are educated and hardworking. That is why there is a lot of investment potential here,’ he said.
Prime Minister Oli, mentioning that the Employment Decade will be successful if the Entrepreneurship Decade is celebrated, said, ‘I want to tell the youth, do not hesitate to search for employment, engage in entrepreneurship. For that, the government will support in thinking, training and skill development.’ Urging the world to ‘brand’ the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, with the name of Mount Everest, he emphasized that it should not be called ‘Mount Everest’.
Prime Minister Oli also informed investors that the government is always ready to respect labor, promote dialogue between employers and workers, and protect trade union rights in accordance with the principles of the International Labor Organization. Uj was welcomed by Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki.
