Kathmandu. Citizens of the streets and river banks of the Kathmandu Valley have protested in Kathmandu. They have protested demanding the scrapping of road and river standards.
The protest was organized by the Land Rights Protection Struggle Committee and the Non-Judicial Road and River Standards Victims Struggle Committee on Thursday. They have gathered at Maitighar in Kathmandu and are shouting various slogans.
They have been carrying placards and banners saying, “We don’t want a government that is not concerned with the suffering of the people,” “Make decisions, do justice,” “People cannot be displaced in the name of standards,” “Rivers cannot be trampled,” “People cannot be displaced in the name of standards,” “Beware, stop looting our land in the name of standards,” “Revoke road and river standards,” “Stop interfering with private property,” and others. .
