Kathmandu. A protest has been announced demanding an investigation into the assets of the Head of State, Prime Minister and all those in high positions of the state. The NCP (Majority) Bureau No. 3 organized a press conference and announced the program of the protest demanding an investigation into the assets of all former dignitaries.
The party’s Bureau No. 3 in-charge Uday Bahadur Chalaune ‘Deepak’ alleged that the main enemy of the country is corruption and that high-ranking officials are the cause of it. Chalaune, who is also a member of the party’s standing committee, announced that he would hold a sit-in at Maitighar Mandala in the capital from Chaitra 24 to Baisakh 9 to demand an investigation into his assets.
He opined that in order to make the country prosperous and raise the living standards of the people, the assets of every high-ranking official should be investigated and if it is confirmed that he has embezzled state funds, it should be nationalized.
Chalaune also alleged that the main reason for the dismissal of Kulman Ghising was that the minister was not allowed to interfere, saying, “Energy Minister Deepak Khadka is a water and electricity entrepreneur and he was removed because Ghising did not allow him to interfere in that.” “In this way, when the evil eye of high-ranking officials of the state is in the state treasury, the country will be ruined. When such people are the source of corruption, is the prosperity of the people possible?” Chalaune asked.
Party central member and Lalitpur district in-charge Kumal Silwal informed that they have announced a movement to break the web of corruption.
The party’s Kathmandu district in-charge Sagar Limbu, Bhaktapur district in-charge Pratima Bajgain, Chitwan district in-charge Raktim, Kathmandu secretary Darshan Kumar Nepali and others were present at the said press conference.
