Kathmandu. Much-loved singer Durgesh Thapa has issued a ‘statement’ before the start of the SEE exam, announcing that he will not perform at any Mela Mahotsav.

His statement reads, “Exams are an important time in our lives. Not only for entertainment, but also for a bright future. I will always be with you all. At the moment, I am getting calls from many fairs, festivals and events for programs, but if I continue to perform, it will disturb my studies, distract me, and may affect my future. Keeping these things in mind, I announce that I will not perform any program during the SEE exam period. I also request everyone not to contact me for programs that will be conducted during the SEE period and apologize for the inconvenience caused to the organizers.”

Considering the students’ exams, the singer Thapa has said that he will not hold a concert. But politicians who are responsible for building the country are preparing to hold a Nepal Bandha rally that will affect the students’ exams. Some people are agitating in the country saying that they will bring in a monarchy. Some people are preparing for a public demonstration saying that they will save the system.

CPN-UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula said that the party will request that there be no agitation during the C exam. He told Singha Durbar, “This is a very important issue, we will also raise questions in the House on this issue, we will also request other parties.”

Businessman Durga Prasai has called for a public demonstration on Chaitra 15 in favor of the monarchy. This has seriously affected the C exam that will continue until the 19th. The National Youth Union is preparing to gather national volunteers in Tinkune, Kathmandu on Chaitra 13. This is also understood as a preparation for a movement in favor of the republic and against the monarchy. The People’s Liberation Army, close to the CPN-Maoist, has called for a Nepal Bandh. This is seen to further affect the C exams.

Mahesh Shrestha, president of the student organization ANRFSU, close to the CPN-Unified Socialist Party, has urged that peaceful protests be announced only after the C exams are over. President Shrestha says that since the school is a peace zone, students have the natural right to take the exams in a fear-free environment. Chairman Shrestha said, “The C examination, which will start from Chait 7, will continue until Chait 19. It is wrong to announce a movement in such a way that the examination itself will be affected. This will have a serious impact on the psychology of the students. The people’s movement of 2062/063 was also announced after the completion of the then SLC examination. I urge everyone to think seriously about this issue.”
