Kathmandu. Organic products from various parts of the country, including Karnali, are available here. ‘Moulik Bazaar’ has come into operation in Kapan under Budhanilkantha Municipality of Kathmandu, focused on the use and promotion of organic agricultural products.
The market, which has been launched with the aim of bringing organic products collected from all 753 municipalities of the country to consumers, offers food items such as Jumla’s Marsi rice, Humla’s beans, Mugu’s millet, and Dolpa’s herbs.
The market has been started with the aim of encouraging farmers in Karnali to engage in farming. “The market is operated by branding agricultural produce according to the concept of ‘one local level, one product,'” said its operator Suman Dahal.
“The objective of the market is to promote not only Karnali products but also agricultural products, herbal cosmetics, spices, ginger and garlic paste, handicrafts, and products with original identity produced in all seven provinces of the country,” he said, expressing the goal of contributing to the country’s agricultural and rural development in the long term.
