Kavrepalanchowk. Dhulikhel: A process has been initiated for the construction of an ‘Atomic Research Centre’ in Dhulikhel. For this purpose, legal process has been initiated for acquiring land at Bhatapokhari of Dhulikhel Municipality-8.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is going to build this center. According to the ministry, a minimum of Rs 3 billion is required to start the scheme. Secretary at the Ministry, Bishwa Babu Pudasaini, said that an appeal will be made to donor agencies as well as the World Bank for this. Pudasaini said that this research center will be important for the production of molecular medicine and research in all fields.
Pudasaini also appealed to the people not to doubt the security of the center and the threat to the locals during the on-site inspection of the land acquisition process on Monday. According to him, the state is expected to make a big leap in the field of treatment of patients like cancer after the construction of the center. According to the Ministry, research and research will be carried out in accordance with the ‘Radioactive Materials’ (Use and Regulation) Act, 2077, passed by the government seven years ago.
Radioactive material means a substance that can produce radiation, such as alpha particles or beta particles or gamma-rays. Similarly, a radioactive substance expelled from any practice, activity or mechanism or something or object infected with it should be remembered.
According to ward chair Binod Gautam, the dhulikhel municipality executive has decided to give around 92 ropanis of land except Kholsa-Khalsi and the temple inside the land for the construction of the center and the process of acquiring the land has reached the final stage. According to him, this center is expected to be useful in saving billions of rupees spent annually and reducing the shortage of treatment and dependence on medicines.
