Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the bodies that are the backbone of the constitution and the democratic governance system should work with the people and development at the center. He said this during a meeting with the heads and deputy heads of the District Coordination Committees and the office bearers of the Federation of District Coordination Committees Nepal at the Rashtrapati Bhavan today.
President Poudel said, “Despite various difficulties, the three levels of government, the private sector, and the non-governmental sector are continuing to fulfill their important responsibility of coordinating and monitoring the work. I feel that the bodies that are the backbone of the constitution and the democratic governance system should move forward with the people and development at the center.”
He also urged the state to increase its role and activity in monitoring and coordinating whether the work is done according to the budget, plan, and mandate. President Poudel said, “If we increase our activity by being a little more vigilant and aware of whether the work is being done according to the plan, process, and mandate in the villages, towns, and wards, development work will also move forward, and the budget will be properly utilized. This will contribute to the development of the nation.”
He also urged the heads and deputy heads of the coordination committees to increase their effectiveness by being proactive and aware of their roles. Stating that the constitution has made provisions for the federal, provincial, and local governments, President Poudel mentioned that the District Coordination Committee has been arranged with the important responsibility of monitoring the coordination between rural municipalities and municipalities and maintaining a balance in development-related work. President Poudel expressed his best wishes for the success of the 30th Foundation Day program of the Federation.
