Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday to establish a new council to boost US fossil fuel production and exports.
The National Energy Dominance Council, tasked with leading the way for exports of US domestic oil and gas production, will be chaired by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.
Trump signed a license on Friday that will allow Commonwealth LNG in the US state of Louisiana to export liquefied natural gas (LNG), Burgum said as Trump signed the executive order in the White House.
The new directive comes as Biden’s new directive bans new offshore oil and gas drilling by nearly 635 million acres (2.57 million square kilometers) of offshore federal waters are now open to oil and gas production.
“If you look at it from a company perspective, you’re on the side of the net worth,” President Trump said. “They’ve destroyed our net worth. We’re taking it back.”
