Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel attended a special ceremony organized by the Nepali Army at Sainik Manch Tundikhel today on the occasion of Mahashivaratri and the 261st Army Day and observed a parade and military art exhibition.
On that occasion, the Nepali Army presented the Presidential Salute in his honor. President Poudel is the Supreme Commander of the Nepali Army. He paid tribute by offering a wreath at the Military Memorial located there. The Nepali Army has been celebrating Mahashivaratri as Army Day.
According to classical beliefs, Shiva is considered a symbol of peace and security. At the ceremony, President Poudel released the annual magazine ‘Sipahi-2081’ published by the Nepal Army, Army Public Relations and Information Directorate.
He presented awards to Sen. Jagnath Danai, who came first in the ‘Free Fall Jump’, and Amaldar Mitra Bahadur Rana Magar, who came second. President Poudel presented mementos to the team leaders of the Indian, British and American armies who performed the band at the Army Day ceremony.
Earlier, a floral shower was performed by an army helicopter and a banner reading ‘Army Day-2081’ was displayed. On that occasion, the army presented a Mahashivaratri parade and parade with rifles and cannons.
During the ceremony, the army displayed various martial arts, marching passes, and traditional costumes, as well as various art forms, dances, and musical melodies. On that occasion, vehicles, equipment, and weapons used in peacekeeping missions were displayed by the Nepali Army. Similarly, the army team presented the organization’s symbol, the trident and the damaru within a hexagon.
Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, and National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal were present at the ceremony.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers, members of parliament, heads and office bearers of constitutional bodies, high-ranking officials of the Government of Nepal, heads of security agencies, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions in Nepal, and distinguished dignitaries from the society also reached Tundikhel to witness the grandeur of Shivaratri. .
The former chiefs of the Indian Army, Joginder Jaswant Singh, Deepak Kapoor, Vijay Kumar Singh, Dalbir Singh Suhag, Manoj Mukund Naravane and Manoj Pandey, were present on the occasion, according to the Directorate of Military Public Relations and Information.
A crowd of people gathered around Tundikhel to watch the grandeur of Shivaratri. The ceremony was broadcast live by Nepal Television and other electronic media.
