Patan. Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the Nepali diaspora to invest the skills and capital they have learned abroad in their country and achieve rapid economic prosperity.
Addressing an interaction on the topic ‘Nepalese in Diaspora: Government’s Responsibilities and the Role of Public Relations Committees’ organized by the Nepali Congress’s Nepali Public Relations Committee Coordination Department at the party’s central office, Sanepa, today, he said that the party is working to create an environment in accordance with the wishes of the Nepali diaspora and to involve capable and capable people in all state bodies.
‘Even while living outside the country, they have thought about the welfare of the country and the people. We have tried to include them in the party’s general convention and general committee. We will try to change the party’s statute and get them represented in the central committee from the general convention,’ he said. .
President Deuba urged everyone to strive for progress and development with the feeling that they are Nepalis, no matter where they are in the world. He mentioned that strong support and cooperation from the Nepali diaspora is necessary to strengthen the democratic republic in Nepal.
Party Vice President and former Minister Dhanraj Gurung expressed his belief that such interactions and discussions would help in working towards resolving the existing problems. He stressed that Nepalis living abroad are suffering extraordinary losses due to delays in even simple tasks such as visa renewal and labor permits, and stressed the need to establish a desk at the party’s central office to facilitate this.
He urged the party to focus on creating an investment-friendly environment so that they can work easily in Nepal and solve the problems faced by non-resident Nepalis. Former Nepali Congress Vice President Gopalman Shrestha emphasized that the party should play an important role in the government and parliament in the interest of all Nepalis who have gone abroad to work by shaping public opinion in favor of the party.
Former General Secretary of the party Bimalendra Nidhi said that continuous interaction is necessary to make the role of the Public Relations Committee effective and said that it is necessary to connect Nepalis living abroad and play a role in creating public opinion in the federal democratic republican system and protecting economic prosperity.
Former General Secretary of the Congress and leader of the parliamentary party in the National Assembly, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, said that the Nepali diaspora living in different countries have different problems and they share a common view that Nepal should prosper. He said that the party will emphasize on making effective laws for policy-level arrangements for the welfare of overseas Nepalis.
Arjun Joshi, a central member of the party and former head of the department, said that there was a concern that there would be more people in the diaspora than in Nepal, and said that the party should take appropriate decisions to resolve this. He stressed that the party and the government should make policy-level arrangements in a way that understands the feelings of Nepalis living abroad.
Kiran Raj Poudel, head of the department and central member of the party, said that the help provided by migrant workers working abroad from Nepal to Nepal during the emergency was incomparable.
