Gandaki. Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has stressed on the need for leaders and activists at all levels of the party to unite and strengthen the organization. Inaugurating an orientation program on organization and contemporary context for training branch chiefs organized by the Nepali Congress Central Policy, Research and Training Institute in Pokhara today, he stressed on the need to unite and make the party one without conflicting with each other.
Says that it would be easier to achieve a majority if the party is united, and he clarified that there is cooperation between the Nepali Congress and the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) in view of the political instability. President Deuba stated that even though the CPN-UML is the main competitor, there is no need to distrust him.
Mentioning that he and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli were jailed together, he said, “In fact, Oliji and I are jailed together. There was a lot of hardship, there was no possibility of escape. Even those inside the jail were put in jail by showing the Jhapa incident. We are the main competitors. However, there is no need to distrust KP Oli.”
Says that the country has abundant potential for development, and the Congress should play a leading role for its overall upliftment. Nepali Congress Central Policy, Research and Training Institute Chief and Party Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka said that the party will effectively advance training programs from the center to the grassroots level. He pointed out the need to establish the party as a strong one by communicating hope to the leaders and cadres, rather than despair.
Kishor Dutta Baral, President of Nepali Congress Kaski, said that the party should be linked to entrepreneurship. He said that it is necessary to understand BP thinking in a timely manner and apply it practically. The party’s central leaders will provide training in the program that will conclude on Wednesday. About two hundred people, including the party’s district president, vice president, and provincial president, are participating in the training.
