Kathmandu. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey has said that preparations are underway to add more aircraft on lease to operate Nepal Airlines. Speaking at the meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee held at Singha Durbar on Monday, Minister Pandey said this.

He claims that he is working diligently to produce results in the civil aviation sector at any time. He said that there is no alternative to adding more aircraft to operate the aviation sector more effectively. Mentioning that there have been proposals for direct flights from many countries, Minister Pandey said that 10 wide-bodied and 10 narrow-bodied aircraft should be added, saying that there is a problem in trying to board the flag carrier from all sides.

He said, “We are in intensive discussions regarding the resumption of Nepal Airlines in the field of civil aviation. We are ready to hold discussions so that results can be obtained at any time. Now there is no way to not add planes. It will be easier to operate only if there are 10 wide-bodied and 10 narrow-bodied aircraft. Proposals for direct flights have come from all sides. Any country will try to board the flag carrier.” Nepalis are bound to find it, and others will certainly allow it if it is the flag carrier of that country when they go to the relevant country.’

He also said that the process of flying aircraft on lease is in the final stages. He also said that the government is in the process of bringing an aviation policy to solve the problems seen in the aviation sector. He said that a study is also needed to remove the disparity seen in tickets between foreign and domestic airlines.
